Health and Safety
Should any staff from CDM find that a visitor shows symptoms of severe illness or has a temperature of 38 degrees Celcius and above, CDM has the right to cancel the relevant reservation and require the relevant person to leave the museum immediately. No compensation or refund will be made for any loss and the museum reserves the right to pursue legal action. In case of any disputes, the museum has the right to resolve them in its absolute discretion.By entering CDM:
All visitors agree and will abide by the above measures. CDM reserves the right to require relevant person to leave the museum immediately should there be any violations. CDM shall not be responsible for any matters or disputes relating to any violations by visitors and no compensation or refund will be made for any loss.
During direct or indirect participation in any activities or programs at CDM, visitors agree to waive their right to pursue legal action against CDM or its staff or volunteers from any and all liability for injury, illness, or any other condition of their child(ren) and themselves that may occur while at CDM and after visit.
1) Ticketing
1.1) Before visiting, all visitors (children and adults) must purchase tickets either via CDM's specific online ticketing platform or walk-in. * Tickets that require redemption must be completed online before entry.
1.2) Each ticket admits one person only.
1.3) Ticket types:
Infant ticket**: 0 - 12 months
Child ticket: 13 months - 12 years old
Child Drop-Off^: 6 - 12 years old
Adult ticket: 13 years old or above
Child with disabilities**
** For admittance into CDM for concessionary ticket holders of infants, child with disabilities, and seniors, please show Certificate of Registration of Birth/ Registration Card for People with Disabilities issued by the Central Registry for Rehabilitation.
** Failure to present proper identification will result in having to pay the difference of a full price ticket.

1.4) Each visit group must have a minimum of one child and one adult (except for Child Drop-Off ticket holders).
1.5) Each adult maximum can bring two children per session.
1.6) Tickets are sold on on a first come, first served basis.
1.7) No refund will be granted under any circumstances.
I) ONLINE TICKET ADMISSION: 1.5-HOUR SESSION
A) Procedure for Arrival
i) The admission procedure takes time. Please arrive at the Museum ten minutes before your session begins. Please present the QR code ticket to Discovery Staff for admission.
ii) Visitors will receive an admission bracelet before entry. Visitors must wear it and keep them properly and return it to the Visitor Service counter when leaving. Lost of the admission bracelet will require a replacement fee of $20 per bracelet.
B) Changes to Purchased Tickets
i) Under no circumstances can any purchased tickets be refunded or exchanged for any other services and/or merchandise.
ii) Request for change of reservation date within 15 minutes from the completion time of the ticket sale transaction can only be made if space is available. No admin fee will be required. Request to change can only be made once.
Requests made 16 minutes and beyond from the completion time of the ticket sale transaction will require a $50 admin fee. Change request for a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday can only be made to the 13:00 - 14:30 session time. Any price difference in ticket fees must be paid.
iii) Request to change can only be made once. The newly selected session time can only be made within three (3) months from original visit date.
iv) Unused tickets will be considered as forfeited and cannot be changed to a future time slot, refunded, or exchanged for any other services and/or merchandise.
v) For any no show without prior notice to CDM for 2 times or more, CDM will not accept any future reservations.
vi) Sick arrangement, please see point (C) below.
vii) Inclement weather arrangement, please see point (4) below.
C) Rebooking Due to Sickness
i) Visitors who cannot visit CDM due to illness may have a one time request to rebook a session. Visitors are required to send the medical certificate through email within 48 hours of the original visiting time. Late request will not be considered.
ii) If all visitors within the purchased ticket will rebook to another session, please send the medical certificate to booking@childrensdiscoverymuseum.hk, the museum will handle the request within three to seven working days.
iii) If only a portion of the visitors within the purchased group will request to rebook to another session, visitors who will visit CDM on the day of their purchased ticket must inform the museum's Visitor Services counter. The sick party is responsible to send the medical certificate to booking@childrensdiscoverymuseum.hk, the museum will handle the request for the visitors to visit at another time within three to seven working days.
iv) Change request for a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday can only be made to the 13:00 - 14:30 session time. Any price difference in ticket fees must be paid.
v) Request to change can only be made once. The newly selected session time can only be made within three (3) months from original visit date.
vi) Unused tickets will be considered as forfeited and cannot be changed to a future time slot, refunded, or exchanged for any other services and/or merchandise.
II) WALK-IN TICKET ADMISSION: 1 HOUR SESSION AND TOP UP 30 MINUTES
A) Purchase of 1-hour walk-in tickets are available during CDM's opening hours, except when there are private bookings.
B) 1-hour Walk-In tickets cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount offers.
C) After payment, visitors will receive an admission pass before entry. Visitors must carry and return it to the Visitor Service counter when leaving. Lost of the admission pass will require an admin fee of $20 per pass.
D) Top Up 30 minutes is only applicable to visitors who have purchased 1-hour or 1.5-hour tickets for extension purposes, and cannot be purchased alone. Under no circumstances can price difference be applied for any tickets that are already purchased and/or used. No refunds or exchanges for any other services and/or merchandise are allowed under any circumstances.
2) Visit Duration
2.1) Each valid ticket is only applicable to enter the venue during the stated reservation date and time.
2.2) Visitors must leave promptly at the end of their session time.
2.3) Visitors must enter and leave the museum within the designated time of the reservation/walk-in ticket. Should you or anyone in your group continue to stay for more than 5 minutes within the 1/F area, the following charges will be incurred:
Exceed 6 - 29 minutes: HK$100 per person
Exceed 30 minutes or more, HK$200 per person will be applied for every 30 minute increment.
If you wish to stay for an additional play time, please process payment for it before your original designated end time, otherwise the overtime charges will be applied. The museum reserves the right to refuse any booking or entry for those who have not paid their overtime fees.
2.4) No compensation will be made for any late arrivals.
2.5) Re-entry for the same person is permitted within the designated period, no exchange to a different person, adult or child, is permitted. Any time away from CDM will not be compensated.
3) Supervision of Children
3.1) Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.
3.2) A caregiver can supervise a maximum of two children at one time.
3.3) If the adult needs to leave CDM at any time during the designated period, the child/children that the adult is supervising must also leave CDM.
3.4) For safety and security reasons, a single adult (18 years old or above) cannot visit without a child. For more details, please see our FAQ page on our website.
4) Inclement weather
4.1) If the Hong Kong Observatory hoists the Black Rainstorm signal, or the typhoon signal No. 8 or above 2.5 hours before the start of a session, the session will be postponed. No cancellation or refund will be provided for the postponed session. If CDM decides to close due to inclement weather, person responsible for the booking must register for another session within seven (7) days from the original date of the session, failure to do so will deem the booking as forfeited. 4.2) Red Rainstorm Signal
CDM will open during Red Rainstorm signal. Scheduled sessions and parties will continue. Requests to rebook a visit are not accepted.
CDM will remain open if Red Rainstorm signal is hoisted during a session.
** If the Hong Kong Observatory lowers the Black Rainstorm signal to the Red Rainstorm signal during a session time, please check our website and social media page for latest updates about when CDM will open.
7.3) Black Rainstorm Signal
If Black Rainstorm signal is hoisted before our opening hours and last till on/after 13:15, CDM will be closed for the day.
If Black Rainstorm signal is cancelled before 13:15, CDM will aim to open at 15:30, if possible. Please check our website and social media page for latest opening updates.
If Black Rainstorm signal is hoisted during our opening hours, CDM will remain open.
Rebooking of museum tickets are ONLY accepted when:
(1) the original admission time was when the Black Rainstorm Warning Signal was in force
(2) the original admission time was within 2 hours after the cancellation of Black Rainstorm signal
7.4) Typhoon Signal No. 3
CDM will open during the typhoon signal No. 3. Scheduled sessions and parties will continue. Requests to rebook a visit are not accepted.
CDM will remain open if typhoon signal No. 3 is hoisted during a session.
7.5) Typhoon Signal No. 8 or Above
If the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or Above/ Extreme Conditions is hoisted before our opening hours and last till on/after 13:15, CDM will be closed.
If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or Above/ Extreme Conditions is cancelled before 13:15, CDM will aim to open at 15:30, if possible. Please check our website and social media page for latest opening updates.
If the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or Above/ Extreme Conditions remains after 13:15, CDM will remain closed for the rest of the day.
If the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 will be issued within two hours as announced by the Hong Kong Observatory during our opening hours, CDM will close 30 minutes after the announcement.
Rebooking of museum tickets are ONLY accepted when:
(1) the original admission time was when the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or Above/ Extreme Conditions was in force.
(2) the original admission time was within 2 hours after the cancellation of the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or Above/ Extreme Conditions.
** For school and NGO group visits only:
For all inclement weather (including Red Rainstorm, Black Rainstorm, Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 and above), CDM will follow the government’s arrangement.
If schools are closed, the visit will be re-booked to another day. Re-booking to visit another day must be made as soon as possible and the new visit date must take place within 60 days from the originally scheduled day. Otherwise, it will be deemed as forfeited.
6) By entering into CDM, it means all visitors agree to abide by the "Terms and Conditions" and "Disclaimer".
7) The Hong Kong Children's Discovery Museum Ltd. reserves the right to change the "Terms and Conditions" at any time.
8) Any disputes connected in any way to the booking will be resolved by Hong Kong Children's Discovery Museum Ltd. in its absolute discretion.
9) These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
