1) Visit

1.1) The host as indicated in the "Private Booking Application Form" is responsible to greet guests on the G/F. The host is responsible to indicate which guests are allowed to gain entry to 1/F area. All guests who wish to gain entry to 1/F area will be given a bracelet.

1.2) Only participants who have a bracelet can enter the 1/F area during the stated reservation date and time.

1.3) Guests must leave promptly at the end of the "event time" (as indicated in the invoice).

1.4) The host must enter and return the venue on time ("final end time" as indicated in the invoice). The venue should be in the same state as when the event started. Failure to do so will incur a cleaning fee of $100 per hour.

If anyone from the group leaves the museum after the "final end time", later than 5 minutes or more, a charge of HK$100 per person will be applied upon exiting. If anyone from the group leaves after the "final end time", later than 30 minutes or more, a charge of HK$200 per person shall be applied upon exiting for every 30 minutes. The museum reserves the right to refuse any booking or entry for those who have not paid their overtime fees.

1.5) No compensation will be made for any late arrivals.

1.6) Re-entry for the same person to 1/F area is permitted within the designated period, no exchange to a different person, adult or child, is permitted. Any time away from the 1/F will not be compensated.

2) Application & Payment Policy

2.1) To apply, event host must complete the Private Booking Google form.

2.2) Event host must confirm the total number of participants three (3) weeks before the event date.

2.3) Event host must settle the payment within three (3) business day once the number of guests are confirmed.

2.4) No refund or rescheduling of the event will be made after payment confirmation. (Please see Section 5 and 6 for arrangement of special cases, such as inclement weather and sickness).

2.5) Decrease in ticket quantity is not allowed once the payment is made. Any unused quota cannot be exchanged for tickets or services and will be considered as forfeited with no refund.

2.6) CDM can accommodate additional visitors only if maximum capacity has not been reached. Please inform us as soon as possible if you wish to add additional visitors.a) One week before the event date: A new invoice will be issued and full payment for these additional person must be received within three (3) business days. b) On the event date or less than one week before the event date: CDM will accommodate additional person only if maximum capacity has not been reached. If CDM can accommodate, a different colored bracelet will be given to every additional guest. The additional fee will be paid according to the Private Booking Pricing Chart shown on the "Private Booking" webpage. Payment must be made in cash or bank transfer before host leaves CDM.

2.7) If the full payment cannot be settled by the payment due date or if the application is not duly completed, Hong Kong Children’s Discovery Museum reserves the right to cancel the application or deny request without prior notice.

3) Supervision of Children

3.1) On the 1/F, children who are 5 years old and under are required to be supervised at all times by a caretaker who is 18 years old or above, one caretaker can supervise a maximum of two children at one time.

For children who are 6 years old and above are required to be supervised at all times by a caretaker who is 18 years old or above, one caretaker can supervise a maximum of five children at one time.

3.2) If the parent-child workshop add-on option is selected, during the activity, one to one caretaker supervision per child is required.

4) Booking Changes

4.1) Under no circumstances can the event amount be refunded or exchanged for any tickets, services and/or merchandise.

4.2) Unused quota will be considered as forfeited and cannot be changed to a future time slot, refunded, or exchanged for any other services and/or merchandise.

4.3) Rebooking Arrangement due to sickness, please see point (5) below.

4.4) Rebooking Arrangement due to Inclement Weather, please see point (6) below.

5) Rebooking Due to Sickness

5.1) If the event is for a specific child's celebration as indicated in the Private Booking application form (ie. birthday or graduation) and the child is ill, the event host has the opportunity to do a one-time rebooking. The event host must submit a valid medical certificate issued by a licensed medical practitioner within 48 hours before the event's start time. The medical certificate must clearly show the birthday/graduation child's name and be submitted no later than 24 hours before the event's start time. Submission of the medical certificate should be emailed to: booking@childrensdiscoverymuseum.hk.

* The event host must inform CDM and submit a valid medical certificate no later than 24 hours before the event's start time. Late submissions will not be entertained and the event will be deemed as forfeited and under no circumstances will a refund or an exchange for tickets or services or merchandise will be permitted.


5.2) CDM will try its best to accommodate the one-time rebooking for the event. If CDM determines no suitable date can be agreed upon within a three (3) month period, public session tickets will be issued instead. Public session tickets will be issued according to the number of children and adults that is indicated on the invoice. Host and/or guests of the event can come at different times.

Please submit the following information:
(a) name of each group's representative
(b) the contact number of the representative(s), and
(c) the new visiting time of the public session for each group (*different admission day and time is allowed).

Kindly note we will confirm the changes within five (5) business days.

5.3) If guest(s) of the event cannot visit CDM due to illness, they can have a one time request to rebook to a public session. The host is required to send the guest's medical certificate with the child's name through email within 48 hours of the event start time. Submission of the medical certificate should be emailed to: booking@childrensdiscoverymuseum.hk, the museum will handle the request within three to seven working days. Late request will not be considered and under no circumstances will a refund or exchange for a ticket will be permitted.

6) Rebooking Arrangement due to Inclement Weather

6.1) Rebooking of the event or to change to public tickets are only acceptable when:
(1) the original event start time was when the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal 8 or above / “Extreme Conditions” / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal was in force

(2) the original event start time was within 2 hours after the cancellation of Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal 8 or above / “Extreme Conditions” / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal6.2) CDM will try its best to accommodate the one-time rebooking for the event. If CDM determines no suitable date can be agreed upon within a three (3) month period, public session tickets will be issued instead. Public session tickets will be issued according to the number of children and adults that is listed on the invoice. Host and/or guests of the event can come at different times.

Please submit the following information:
(a) name of each group's representative
(b) the contact number of the representative(s), and
(c) the new visiting time of the public session for each group (*different admission day and time is allowed).

Kindly note we will confirm the changes within five (5) business days.

7) Party Decorations and External Services

7.1) Event host can arrive at the time indicated in the invoice.

7.2) Event host is responsible to bring scissors, any other stationary, and enough Blu Tac to stick up items that need to be hung - no tape of any kind can be used.

7.3) To ensure the safety of all visitors, please ensure that you follow the safety instructions when using decorations. Balloons must stay securely on the floor for safety reasons.

7.4) Any replica weapons, or decorations or items that are potentially harmful, such as toys or balloons that look like knives or guns, should not be used.

7.5) If you wish to bring in decorations that are not mentioned above, please confirm with CDM in advance.

7.6) External services that are provided by any external service providers brought into CDM must be approved by CDM in advance. Every individual from the external service provider must purchase a ticket and agree to abide by these "Terms and Conditions". For the safety of children, please ensure that the adult to child ratio requirements are met.

7.6A) One professional photographer will be exempted from purchasing a ticket. If additional photographer(s) are required, the additional photographer(s) will require to purchase ticket(s) and wear the bracelets like a participant.

7.7) Event host may choose to bring food - light and packaged food is recommended. If needed, CDM can provide food and drinks at an additional cost.

7.8) Upon request, CDM can help stage cake cutting and store the cake. The museum is not responsible for any damage(s) to the cake during transportation and storage, such as melting, other food contamination, or other possible damages.

7.9) All visitors enter CDM at their own risk. CDM is not responsible for any accident happening or injury suffered by them or damage to or loss of any personal belongings.

7.10) The event host will bear monetary responsibility should any damages or items be broken.

8) By entering into CDM, it means all visitors agree to abide by the "Terms and Conditions" and "Disclaimer".

9) The Hong Kong Children's Discovery Museum Ltd. reserves the right to change the "Terms and Conditions" at any time.

10) In case of any discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions of these "Terms and Conditions", the English version shall prevail.

11) Any disputes connected in any way to the booking will be resolved by Hong Kong Children's Discovery Museum Ltd. in its absolute discretion.

12) These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
