Terms and Conditions

1) Qualification

1.1) The outreach program: "Learning through Play - Parent Workshop" (hereonafter known as "Workshop") is only available to the following:


(a) schools classified under the school level of Education Bureau of the HKSAR Government as “kindergartens”, “primary schools”, "aided schools"


(b) International schools


(c) Hong Kong recognized tax-exempt Section 88 charitable institutions.


(d) Non-profit organizations*.* Registered charitable organizations and registered non-profit-making organizations must provide copies of supporting documents to identify the charitable nature or non-profit-making nature of the organization. We accept any of the following documents:

(i) A letter issued by the Inland Revenue Department under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance;

(ii) A list of Approved Charitable Institutions and Trusts of a Public Character published in the Government Gazette with the organization’s name on it;

(iii) A letter issued by the Social Welfare DepartmentAn application will not be accepted if the organization fails to provide at least one of documents (i) to (iii) listed above.

1.2) Participants of the workshop must be the registered students, family members, volunteers and teachers at the school indicated on the application form; OR people invited to participate or staffs of the charitable institutions and non-profit organizations.

2) Application & Payment Policy

2.1) To apply, applicants must submit a completed "Learning through Play: Parent Workshop" application to CDM. All applications for Workshops are subject to receipt of the application form.

2.2) Applicants must confirm the total number of participants five (5) weeks before the outreach date.

2.3) Applicants must settle the payment within seven (7) business days once the number of participants are confirmed. No refund or rescheduling will be made after payment confirmation. Under special circumstances a one-time change is permitted. (Please see Section 3 for arrangement of special cases, such as inclement weather).

2.4) If the applicant wants to increase the number of participants, please notify the museum at least two weeks before the Workshop. Due to the interactive nature of the Workshop, the maximum number of participants in the Workshop is 30 adults per session.

If the number of participants exceeds 30 adults, based on the number of actual participants, a second or more Workshop sessions will be held and charged per session according to the price list listed on the Outreach: "Learning through Play - Parent Workshop" webpage.

2.5) Workshop payment must be settled at least 3 weeks before the event date. If payment is not settled on time, the museum reserves the right to refuse to hold the workshop.

2.6) The Workshop fee cannot be exchanged to any admission or other service fees.

2.7) If the full payment cannot be settled by the payment due date or if the application is not duly completed, Hong Kong Children’s Discovery Museum reserves the right to cancel the application or deny request without prior notice.

3) Special Arrangement for Inclement Weather

3.1) In the occurrence of inclement weather as described below, applicants are required to reschedule Workshop to a new date that is within one month of the original date:

3.1.1) The Hong Kong Observatory issues Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, or;

3.1.2) The Hong Kong Observatory issues Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 8 or higher, or;

3.1.3) The Education Bureau announces class suspension of all schools, or;

3.1.4) The Social Welfare Department announces the suspension of classes, or;

3.1.5) The venue announces in writing it is not suitable for any activity due to inclement weather.

3.2) Should applicants be unable to make their rescheduling request within the above time, payment paid will be deemed as forfeited with no refund.

4) Workshop services will only be conducted in Cantonese, English or Putonghua.

5) CDM requires 30 minutes to set up before the Workshop start time. The Workshop will end at the scheduled time and cannot be extended beyond the scheduled time.

6) Copyright, Photography and Filming

6.1) During the Workshop, photographs and videos may be taken by CDM staff for educational and promotional purposes. Applicants must indicate on the application form and notify CDM staff before the activities begin if they do not wish to be photographed or filmed.

6.2) CDM reserves the right to photograph, film, record or otherwise reproduce the image and/or sounds of any person who has agreed without payment to any persons.

6.3) Commercial photography and filming by anyone is strictly prohibited except with the prior written permission of CDM. For non-commercial photography and filming, please indicate your request on the application form for permission.

6.4) Unless authorized by CDM in advance for commercial use, applicants should indicate on all forms of relevant publications and media that services and/or materials are provided by Hong Kong Children's Discovery Museum.

7) The Hong Kong Children’s Discovery Museum Ltd. reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions at any time.

8) Any disputes connected in any way to the application procedures and approvals will be resolved by Hong Kong Children’s Discovery Museum Ltd. in its absolute discretion.

9) In case of any discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.
